25-year-old Zozibini Tunzi’s life changed for the better when she was announced as Miss SA 2019!
South Africans congratulated the Public Relation graduate on her victory and wished her the best.
Instead of following suit and congratulating the young woman on her victory, Metro Fm questioned her beauty in a poll on Twitter. Fans didn’t respond well to this, some sending Miss SA 2019 screenshots of the poll.
Speaking to Sowetan on Sunday, Tunzi shared her thoughts about Metro Fm poll.
” People have been sending me screenshots of it [the poll] and it’s a bit sad. People have their opinion and it is what it is.”
She carried on to point out that beauty is subjective and we look different to different people which is why beauty is not a thing to her.
” If you say to me that ‘you are ugly’ I don’t even care. I’d be more affected if someone said I wasn’t smart. Then I would have been hurt. But being pretty? I don’t really care and not interested.”
Metro FM issued an apology and deleted the poll tweet.
