The broadcaster finally responded to the allegations made against some of its presenters. In a statement issued on Thursday, they promised to take action against anyone found guilty of gender based violence.
They declared that the law should take its place and deal with the alleged perpetrators. They encouraged the victims to seek the necessary help and bring the accused to justice.
“The SABC recognises the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence against women and children in our society and the corporation finds such acts unacceptable.”
They further stated that they strongly condemn such offensive behavior and appeal to all affected individuals to approach the legal authorities and report the matter to enable the authorities to carry out the relevant investigations.
The SABC said it also commits itself to decisively deal with anyone providing services to the SABC who has been found guilty by the legal authorities of sexual and gender based violence.
