Noni Gasa starts bursary for aspiring fashion designers

Media personality and fashion guru Noni Gaza is about to make young, aspiring fashion designer’s dreams a reality.

In partnership with the Design Academy Of Fashion (DAF) in Cape Town which she co-owns, The Noni Gasa Bursary will give one deserving student the chance to pursue a three-year diploma in fashion in 2020.

The lucky recipient will also walk away with sponsorships from Woolworths and Elna and Rain. Apart from their full tuition fees being paid, they will also have their living expenses covered for three years, to the value of R460 000.

Noni said that she believes 2019 was a breakthrough year for South African designers such as Thebe Magugu, Laduma Ngxokolo and Rich Mnisi. She said they have made it possible for other young African designers to dream bigger.

“I believe that, through this incredible opportunity, we will discover and develop the next big name in the game and an ambassador for the African continent,” she said.
