The winners for the 6th annual All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) were announced at the Convention Centre Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday (November 23).

Hosted by South African television personality Pearl Thusi and British-Congolese comedian Eddie Kadi, AFRIMA Awards are an annual celebration of African music in an effort to recognise, award, promote and preserve Africa’s rich music culture.

South African Artists who scooped the awards includes Sjava, Nadia Nakai and Nasty C.

  • Best Artist, Duo or Group in African Rock – Rash, Kenya
  • Best Female Artiste Southern Africa – Nadia Nakai, South Africa

  • Best African DJ – DJ SPINALL, Nigeria
  • Best Male Artiste in Central Africa – Salatiel, Cameroon
  • Best Female Artist in Northern Africa – Nada Azhari, Morocco

Special Awards of the AFRIMA 2019

The Legend Award for 2019 went to Awilo Logomba and Tuface Idibia also got a special recognition award tonight.
