The holidays may be in full swing, but we’re already thinking about the year. In January 2020, Mzansi Magic is returning with yet another packed slated of brand new series and reality shows.

Next month, Mzansi Magic will be unveiling a brand new series starring Lesly Musina called The Omen and a new reality show Mnakwethu, presented by Musa Mseleku.

Monday – Grassroots Season 1

Two arch rivals, Monwabisi and Asanda, from a small town in the Eastern Cape compete for a sporting scholarship to attend a prominent private high school in Johannesburg. Produced by Clive Morris Productions, this is a thirteen-part drama.

Tuesday – Mnakwethu Season 1

Sunday – Old Mutual Amazing Voices

A new reality talent search show to unearth music groups from four African countries in a historic battle of the genres. DStv and GOtv viewers from Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe will, in the New Year, get to witness a historic talent search reality show. Old Mutual’s Amazing Voices, a pan-African singing competition, will premiere on the small screen with contestants from nine African cities – Accra, Kumasi, Mombasa, Nairobi, Bulawayo, Harare, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, – squaring off against each other for the grand prize of R1.5 million. The show will run for 13 weeks until 5 April 2020.
