Actor Nyaniso Dzedze is pleading for his wife, Yana Seidl to be released from detention at OR Tambo International Airport. Yana is English-German. She possess a passport from Germany, which was one of the countries that were classified as “high risk” for coronavirus by the President.
The couple arrived in South Africa on 18 March from Kigali, Rwanda. The Generations: The Legacy star was allowed entry into the country while his wife was denied because of her passport. Nyaniso shared his frustration on Instagram.
Nyaniso said the conditions in which his wife and other foreigners are detained in are not sanitary. He claims that they are only allowed out to eat.
“She hasn’t been to Germany since she was 16. She hasn’t been to Europe or England since last August. We’ve been in South Africa, Zanzibar and Rwanda. All these places are not high-risk but we’re in the airport and we’re not allowed into South Africa because of the corona pandemonium,” he explained.
In an update shared this Monday, Nyaniso revealed that his wife has not been released. He has sought help from the law amd political leaders on the matter.
