Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced that South Africa has 1380 confirmed cases of covid-19, a 27 increase since Tuesday.
Coronavirus related death has risen to five and the fifty people who tested positive for the coronavirus in Cape Town have recovered and are no longer in self-isolation.
The government urges people to stay at home and only go out when it is necessary.
Taxi drivers are urged not to load fewer passengers. All these measures are put in place to ensure that South Africa flattens the curve.
