AKA shocked the country this Thursday. The rapper claimed that he had not received any payment for his collaboration with Reebok on his 2019 SneAKA collection. In a series of tweets, the Jealousy hit maker said he has not received a single cent.
Can you believe they didn’t pay me a single cent for this? … not one cent. https://t.co/EgW8AKkXBA— AKA (@akaworldwide) May 14, 2020
AKA said he took a “shi*ty” deal because he had always wanted to have a sneaker collection. “I had no choice … it was always a dream of mine to have my own sneaker. I guess that’s why I took a shitty deal in exchange for doing something for the culture,” he tweeted.
His deal with the footware brand expired in December and he has not worked with them since. He also claimed that there was no contract involved in the matter.
Supamega made history with the sneaker collection, he was the first African to work with Reebok on such a venture. His collection only had 600 pairs available. They sold out in just 10 minutes on the Reebok online store.
