Mangaliso Ngema has been fired from SABC 2’s telenovela Lithapo. This is due to sexual harassment allegations brought on against the entertainer.
The actor’s contract was cancelled by Quizzical Pictures, the company that produces the show this Thursday. Earlier this week Lithabo actresses Lorraine Moropa and Altovise Lawrence shared details of the alleged harassment on Social Media.
Lorraine Moropa was the first to blow the whistle. She described her ordeal as unbearable and intolerable. The voice over artist said there were witnesses but no one spoke up for her.
“Imagine working with someone who undresses you from his he looks at you. Someone that grabs their genitals on a set while looking at your ass or grabs your ass and laughs it off in front of a crew,” she posted.
This Thursday she also opened up about reporting the alleged sexual harrasment to Quizzical pictures. She said she hopes to inspire other women in the industry to report any misconduct.
Altovise followed her colleague in making the sexual allegations public. She said she experienced the inappropriate behaviour and harassment from the actor.
“He told me that I’m sexy. He has asked me how far down my tatoos go. He is undressed me with his eyes. He offered to furnish my apartment in exchange for sex,” she wrote.
